Air China Cargo’s A350F order increase confirmed

Airbus has confirmed Air China Cargo’s purchase agreement for four A350 freighters to add to its existing order of six.
The airline had ordered its six initial six A350Fs in November 2025, but had options for more of the type.
Air Cargo News’ sister magazine, FlightGlobal reported earlier this month that the carrier intended to sign a “supplementary agreement” to convert options on four more.
The extra aircraft were confirmed today by Airbus and Air China Cargo.
“This additional order, following our initial A350F order last year, is a crucial strategic decision for the company to further optimise our fleet structure and expand transport capacity,” said Wang Hongyan, vice president of Air China Cargo.
“It will allow us to better match and meet the demands of the international air cargo market, laying a solid foundation for the company’s long-term stable development.”
Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus executive vice president sales of the Commercial Aircraft business, added: “We are very pleased with Air China Cargo’s decision to increase its order for the A350F freighter.
“It reflects Air China Cargo’s full confidence in Airbus’ products and reaffirms the A350F’s leading position as the next-generation freighter.”
The airline has been expanding its freighter fleet in recent years.
Air China Cargo began introducing Airbus A330-200 passenger to freighter (P2F) aircraft at the end of 2023, and currently operates a fleet of eight A330-200P2Fs.
German conversion specialist EFW delivered the eighth A330-200P2F to Air China Cargo in January.
With a range capability of up to 8,700 km and a payload of up to 111 tonnes, the A350F is suitable for international long-haul routes.
